BEAR is a full service environmental and remediation firm with a broad range of experience with over 212 projects with 54 different companies including: 84 Phase I, 46 Phase II, 52 Phase III with 33 groundwater cleanups, and 11 soil only sites. Mining operations are related to mineral assessments (exploration and geophysical), surface and groundwater basin analyses, and water supply assessments.

  • Existing and proposed regulation and law review for compliance issues and preparation of guidance documents for potential impacts to our clients.
  • Environmental assessments (EIS & EA) of existing and proposed facilities for property exchanges, building expansion and proposed mining operations.
  • Preparation and implementation of storm water plans (SWPPP), regulated and hazardous material plans (PPP), pubic notice and hearings, and facility permitting for compliance issues.
  • Water shed and groundwater studies for determination of water utilization, regional and local aquifer characterization (water quality, withdrawal capacity, gradient and flow rate), evaluation of existing well fields for development of earth fissures.
  • Site and remediation investigations to determine vertical and lateral extents of impacted soils and groundwater and obtain sufficient information for design of site wide remediation efforts.
  • Conducting in-site remediation testing for evaluation of the remedial options for both impacted soils and groundwater.
  • Modeling impacted soils and groundwater for determination of actual release size, remediation design aids and natural attenuation.
  • Designed, permitted, installed, and operated 212 soil and groundwater remediation systems to obtain regulatory closure for petroleum and halogenated compound release sites.
  • Risk evaluations for soils and groundwater.
  • Intrusive vapor modeling of soils.
  • Mining related clean-ups include areas in dumps, acid water, mill sites, and ponds.
