Environmental Clean-up Success Stories.

• Truck Stop and Service Center with soil and groundwater remediation of a low flow regional aquifer with an estimated release of 35,000-gallons of gasoline and diesel. The project has included modeling of impacted soils and groundwater, design, install, and operation of a multi-phase remediation system with recovery to date of 33,000 gallons of fuels.

• Lumber Company soil and groundwater remediation of low flow perched groundwater covering approximately 50 acres. The project has included modeling of the impacted groundwater and soil, design of the remediation system, permitting, system installation and operation to the meeting the state closure requirements

• Petroleum Refinery project manager for remedial investigation and development of a 15-year remediation plan for impacted soil and groundwater. Work included two and three dimensional modeling of subsurface conditions using a GIS system. Designed a waste reduction program and trained on site employees.

• Chemical Company 100 acre plant site project manager for former research facility closure involving halogenated solvents in the groundwater. Modeling of the groundwater conditions, transport and migration rates of the contaminates, and risk assessment for closure after reaching maximum ability to remediate the facility.

• Tanker Truck rollover project manger involving fire and extensive lateral migration of 7.000 gallons of oxygenated fuels in a protected wildlife preserve. Established controls to confine the migration, safety remove liquid gasoline from the site, excavate and remove impacted soils to depths of 30 feet and reclaim the area with re-contouring and re-seeding to match the native environment.

• Land Developer project manager for agricultural land conversion in southern California. Former orange groves and vineyards were found to have isolated areas of DDT and heavy metals. Permitted first remedial grading project and obtained agency closure.
